| Maya Angelou was a celebrated poet, memoirist, educator, dancer, dramatist, producer, actress, historian, film-maker and civil rights activist and she inspires us to find our voices and speak our truth. The activities in this box will help you to explore your truths as a family; find some truth in a paper fortune cookie, weave a kente cloth bookmark, wear a magic charm to give you the strength to speak your truth, read Maya Angelou’s poem ‘Life doesn’t frighten me at all’ and make a candle to help you be guided by the light of truth, find peace within and to remind yourself that ‘nothing can dim the light which shines from within’.
The activities are designed to do together as a family but if your children prefer to work independently you may prefer to order an additional box.
